Description

Blaison-Gohier (Maine-et-Loire)

Le 1er mars 1974, Blaison devient Blaison-Gohier à la suite de sa fusion avec Gohier. Depuis le 1er janvier 2016, Blaison-Gohier est commune déléguée de la commune nouvelle de Blaison-Saint-Sulpice.


Le château de Blaison (XVe - XXe).

Cette forteresse médiévale comportait un mur d'enceinte avec des fossés et sept tours. En partie détruit pendant la guerre de Cent Ans, le château est remis en état. Vendu comme bien national puis racheté par la veuve du seigneur, il est restauré en partie vers 1850 pour y loger des lads anglmais, puis une nouvelle fois vers 1960.


The medieval fortress comprised a curtain wall with ditches and seven towers. Party destroyed during the 100 years war, it was subsequently renovated. Sold as Natoional Treasure then purchased once more by seigneurs'widow, it was first partly restored around 1850 as lodging for english stable-boys, and then restored again towards 1960.
