Description

Blaison-Gohier (Maine-et-Loire)

Eglise saint-Aubin.

Au fond du chœur, s’ouvre une chapelle italienne ornée d’une Assomption exécutée au XIXe siècle.


La collégiale préexistente (collégiale séculiaire) a été fondée par Foulque Nerra comte d'Anjou en 1020 et a disparu en tant que collégiale en 1791. Elle eut 4 chanoines de 1020 à 1532 et 1 chantre de 1300 à 1400. Le seigneur du lieu était en même temps premier chanoine, et à ce titre avait droit aux prébendes* en compensation du ministère accompli.


  • Les prébendes sont des revenus. La collégiale devait être assez riche : Entre 1518 et 1530, René seigneur de Boumois, qui a besoin d'argent, vend un certain nombre de biens aux chanoines de l'église collégiale Saint-Aubin de Blaison, afin de faire face à ses dépenses : Le 16 avril 1518, vente d'une rente de 40 livres tournois, pour la somme de 600 livres tournois. Le 14 août 1527, vente d'une rente de 7 livres tournois, pour la somme de 20 écus soleil, 5 angelots, 5 ducats, 5 doubles ducats, un lion, «le tout en or». (La livre devait valoir de 3 à 4 grammes d'or fin; l'écu soleil, en or, pesait un peu moins de 3,5 grammes)
