| Description |
English: Blaenau Ffestiniog Railway Station Rheilfford Ffestiniog Railway, one of North Wales biggest tourist attractions. 13.5 miles of steam locomotion, clinging and tunnelling through the mountains of Snowdonia. The scenic rollercoaster begins at the mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog and ends at dockside Porthmadog. RFW are proudly reported as the oldest independent railway company in the 'world'. Opened in 1832 (by an Act of Parliament) to transport slate, mined from the local mountains and exported all over the world via ships docked at Porthmadog. |
