[edit]
Description
English: The Blackrock Stakes Sculpture, adjacent to the Tourist Bureau, Wedge Street, Port Hedland, Western Australia. The Blackrock Stakes race is run every July over 120km, from the Whim Creek Hotel to Port Hedland. Teams of runners push a wheelbarrow loaded with iron ore, raising money for local community groups. The Sculpture, which was designed and fabricated by local artist Farid Ebrahim, depicts one of the competitors in the race.
