Summary

[edit]
Description A Black faced Langur monkey (also called Grey Langur, or locally known as Hanuman Langur in India) sizes us up as we walk past him. Primarily herbivores, these monkeys are widespread all over the Indian sub continent. They co-exist with humans, and are a common sight in several Indian cities. They can be pesky and a pest at times. They are similar in appearance to the Black Faced Vervet monkey of Africa, though their African cousins are omnivores. (Polonuruwa, Sri Lanka, June 2011).
