| Description |
Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) were brought to the UK from Australia in captivity as ornamental birds. Over the years escapees have established a population of feral birds. I photographed this one on a small lake by Martlesham Creek where it was feasting on pond weed, or at least giving it a good shake. It seemed to be getting on OK with a family of mute swans who were feeding nearby. Highest position in Explore: #222 on Feb 27, 2016. |
