Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Black Rock Just why this outcrop of red Triassic sandstone is called 'Black Rock' is a mystery. Then again perhaps the original 'Black Rock' is the tidally flooded outcrop which lies just off the point here which is covered in dark seaweed. The seaweed shows how high the spring tides reach at this spot, making the public footpath all but impassable - fortunately there is an alternative, and higher, route just inland.
