Summary

[edit]
Description Photo shows typical progress of the four bridges after phase 1 where two-thirds of the width of the new bridges was constructed next to the existing bridges as part of an FHWA, Highways for LIFE supported South Carolina DOT project to replace four consecutive structurally deficient bridges. The project used innovative technologies and contracting and staged construction (PBES, SCC, A+B+C contract bidding, route management). The construction time was reduced from 28 to 14 months.
