Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The black-crested bulbul, a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds, inhabits regions stretching from the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia. Sporting a greenish-yellow hue with a distinctive dark head and crest, this avian species is characterized by its perpetually stern or surprised countenance, accentuated by its pale eyes. Typically found in forested areas ranging from lowlands to foothills and submontane regions, the black-crested bulbul tends to favor open forests over densely covered terrain. Often spotted in pairs or small groups rather than large flocks, its song is described as brief, fluid, and melodious, with the highest note typically occurring towards the conclusion. A recent sighting of this bird was documented at the Buxa Tiger Reserve & National Park in West Bengal, India.
