Description

Black-shouldered Kite, Elanus axillaris +================+ This all happened just too far away, but I think some might find it an interesting action. It's only been on the wing 3 weeks, so perparing for nesting is not the answer. It flew out of a tree clutching the branch and circled the paddock serveral times, alternating the foot carrying the branch. Then after several laps it landed on the same tree and dropped the branch.

I wonder if it had taken off, broken the branch of as it went and couldn't work out how to release it. :-)
