Summary
[edit]DescriptionBlack-capped Hemispingus (36581717523).jpg |
Kleinothraupis atropileus (ssp?) Cerro Toledo, Loja province, Ecuador. Hemispinguses are warbler-like tanagers of high Andean forests. The genus of the same name has recently been retired, with all former members being transferred into various other genera, including several new ones. Birds from southern Ecuador seem to show some plumage features similar to auricularis of Peru (which is sometimes treated as a separate species) - more work is needed to figure out what is going on here. 7032 |
