The Owenboy,called also the Castle River, abounds with salmon and sea trout,and the Owenkillew or Mill River contains many brown trout. Golf.—There is a ladies golf course about a mile in length nearthe railway station : and at Lisfannon, about half-way betweenBuncrana and Fahan, there are also Links for gentlemen. Excursions.—Many interesting excursions may be made fromBuncrana; as, e.g. to Fahan, with its old church and grave-yard, its curious stone cross, ruins of a monastery, and a holywell, still visited by pilgrims on the eve of St. John. In thisparish was born Agnes Cunningham, mother of John Sterling,whose biography was written by Thomas Carlyle.
