dly rising into importance as a tourists station, from itsproximity to the Dargle, the Glen of the Downs and^ theDevils Glen, and from the facility with which it can bereached from Dublin, either direct by road-a distance of about12 or 13 miles—or by railway. Bray Head, which rises abruptly to the height of 793 feet,is situated some distance from the town. A path leads roundit, commanding a most admirable view. After visiting the Head the walk may be continued over LittleSugar Loaf (1120 feet) to the Glen of Downs road, whencewe may either return to Bray or visit the Dargle, o,-proceedsouthwards to the Glen of the Downs. In the neighbourhoodof Bray is Kilruddery, the noble mansion of the Earl oiMeath, built in the Elizabethan style, and situated in a beauti-fully undulating park. The demesne is open every day exceptFridays; cyclists 3d., horses Is. each. The pleasure groundsare open in summer on Mondays free. From Bray the railway continues to Wicklow and \l exford. The above excursion, which exhausts all the objects ofinterest round Bray, may be accomplished in one day by car.Soon after leaving Bray, the Dargle is entered on foot andfollowed to Enniskerry,1 4 miles, and Powerscourt, where thecars should be in waiting. From Powerscourt a good roadproceeds to the Waterfall, and through Glencree to the barracksof that name, from which Loughs Bray may be visited, and themilitary road taken as far as Sally Gap, where, instead ofgoing right on, we take the road to the left, and passingLuggala Lodge and Lough Tay, join the Enniskerry andRoundwood road about 2J miles from the latter place.This road must then be followed northwards for nearly a mileand a half, when we turn at a right angle to the east, andreach Ballinastoe.
