FRENER & REIFER is responsible for the design-engineering, fabrication and installation of the glazed, barrel-shaped roof and other features of the Devonshire House project. Devonshire House is a hotel and restaurant currently being refurbished according to architectural designs by PLP Architecture. The building is located at 150 Bishopsgate in central London. Scope of work Barrel-Shaped Roof: 30 t steel load-bearing structure featuring approx. 317 differently sized, diamond-shaped aluminium elements with glass and sheet metal panel infills in anodised bronze colour. Flat Roof: Visually matched with the barrel-shaped roof by the use of aluminium shingles Multiple window elements Four fully glazed entrance boxes Lift glazing Innovations / Challenges Difficult to access inner-city building in the centre of a metropolis with millions of inhabitants Complex 3D design of barrel-shaped roof Very high fabrication demands due to very low tolerances www.buildington.co.uk/london-ec2/142-150-bishopsgate/hero... The 41-storey tower will include 160 residences. Private previews of The Sky Residences since October 2019. The residential component is expected to be ready for occupation in 2021. The Sky Residences A collection of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments start at level 21 and extend upwards. Many of the apartments are featuring double aspect and full-height glazing to truly provide residents a home in the sky. Resident Amenities Dedicated resident amenity floor is at Level 20 providing a sanctuary of calm across a private lounge and bar, library and meeting room together with a dedicated residential concierge. A sky terrace on Level 34 will offer an unrivalled vista of London’s best landmarks. Additional benefits include the range of superior amenities throughout the hotel, a swimming pool, gymnasium, restaurant and bar. Commercial 2,267 sqm of net lettable area. Pan Pacific Hotel 237 key 5-star luxury hotel with rooms will be on floors 6-19 of the tower. It will be London’s first Pan Pacific Hotel providing 5-star wellness, meeting/events spaces and a 380 seat double-height ballroom/conference facility in the basement. Hotel and commercial components projected to be operational in 2H 2020. The Building The tower was designed by PLP Architecture and comprises approximately 562,000 sq ft gross floor area (340,000 sq ft net area) of 5-star luxury hotel, residential apartments and retail component. UOL will operate the hotel under its flagship “Pan Pacific” hotel brand. MSMR is providing space planning and interior architect services on the residential element or 'Sky Residencies' on the higher floors of the tower. They are also appointed as delivery architects. The development will create a new public space animated by shops and cafes at its edges whilst retaining the most characteristic buildings on Bishopsgate and Devonshire Row which will be renovated to form an integral part of the new development. The site is located at 142-150 Bishopsgate and 1-7 Devonshire Row (odd numbers), relocation of 1 Stone House Court and redevelopment of Stone House (128-148 Bishopgate and 77-84 Houndsditch) and Staple Hall (87-90 Houndsditch), 1,3 and 5 Stone House Court. |
