English: Bishops Lydeard station, with 2-6-2T No. 5572, in 1987. View SE, towards Norton Fitzwarren and Taunton on the original ex-GWR branch from Minehead, which was closed from 4/1/71. The heritage West Somerset Railway reopened the branch 1976-79, reconnecting to the main line in 2009. Class '4575' 2-6-2T No. 5572 was built in 1929 and withdrawn by BR in 4/62 and in 2012 it resides at the Didcot Railway Centre. |
