Summary
[edit]DescriptionBishops Court Bluestone Tower (4527137264).jpg | Completed in 1853, "Bishopscourt", designed by Newson and Blackburn, is the oldest remaining house in East Melbourne. Originally built for Bishop Charles Perry, first Anglican Bishop of Melbourne, it has also doubled as Victoria's Government House in 1874-6. It has been the residence for all of Melbourne's Bishops and Archbishops since its completion. In 1903 the red brick wing designed by Walter Butler replaced part of the original bluestone building. |
