Дом, в котором родился Бах (1685) Вопрос об идентичноcти существующего здания тому, в котором родился Бах является предметом дискуссий.Известно, что тогда это было на фоне окружающей постройки весьма крупное здание зажиточного горожанина-местного капельмайстера Иогана Амбросиуса Баха.Но Иоганн Себастиан принадлежал к числу тех великих музыкантов, чьё значение было осознано лишь через много лет после их смерти.

Лишь через сотню лет, когда Бах стал знаменит, было создано Баховское общество, которое выкупило здание в 1906 году. За это время дом подвергался перестройкам и фактически на старом месте был построен новый дом.
