The Early Birmingham and Midland Institute on Paradise Street, Birmingham, England, and the attached Birmingham Central Library (to the rear), both demolished in the 1960s. The BMI includes the four gable bays, curved front and up to, but excluding, the porch entrance to the Library on the right. The BMI was relocated to Margaret Street in 1965. Paradise Street runs across the bottom of the print. In the right hand distance is Mason Science College. The statue is of James Watt.
