The Pink-sided Jco passes the sum-mer season in the Rocky Mountainregion of Idaho and Montana, where itmakes a home among the pines. It hasbeen found at an elevation of nearly tenthousand feet. Mr. Davie describes anest that was found at an elevation ofeight thousand feet. He says this nestwas under a shelving stone, in a littlehollow dug out by the parents. It wasrather large and compactly built, com-posed of coarse, dry grasses and with aninner lining of fine yellow straw andhair of the mountain sheep. It is saidthat this Junco, when sitting, is verytame and will seldom make a greaterdemonstration than to utter a quiet noteof complaint. At the approach of winter, these birdsretreat before the icy storms of themountains and the snows that cover thesource of their food to the milder cli-mate of Arizona, New Mexico andNorthern Mexico. .w
