Title
Bird of prey on hand
Description
English: A pointed oval (vesica-shaped) seal matrix reverse (unseen) has a small suspension loop near the top. Device of a clothed left arm (from the shoulder onwards) with a bird of prey facing the owner of the arm perched on the hand, jesses visible below. The arm is on the right-hand side of the impression, bird on the left; above them, a five-pointed star; all within a narrow line separating the device from the legend area. Vestiges of a similar line denoting the outer edge of the matrix are visible in places. The find place was near Inverness, close to the site of medieval Hallhill Castle.
