Description
English: Bird of Life (共命鸟), playing a pipa, with dancer playing drum. Drummer appears to be dancing the Sogdian Whirl. Middle Tang-Yulin Grotto 25 South Wall. The Jivajivaka is supposed to specifically be a two headed creature. The bird here has also been called a Kalaviṅka, and appears to be related to the Kinnara, both connected by the same Buddhist traditions.
