Notc;^ have already appeared of the successes of mypair of these beautiful birds in past years, which still con-tinue to nest regularly. As regards this years successes, nesting operationscommenced in December, 191 5. They Were kept in a largecage (3 feet square by 6 feet high) in my bird-room. Theircage is fitted with branch-pr^rches and a nesting barrel, hungup at one end near the top, but not so high that I could notsee inside by standing on a stool. The period of incubation was calculated from the firstnight she sj^ent in the barrel, and exactly twenty-four dayslater I heard the first sound of young birds. During the in-cubation period I have noticed, that they consume less food,and the cock bird is often in the nest barrel.
