Junior Audubon Classes have been organized in about thirty ofthe public schools. A strong desire was felt for a bird-study class, but noleader was available during the winter months, so a specially welcome feat-ure of last spring was a series of twenty lectures, illustrated with slides andfilms, on The Bird, given to our members by Dr. T. S. Roberts, StateOrnithologist and long-time bird-student.—Gertrude P. Wicks, Secretary. The State League convention, which was booked forSt. Paul the last week of August, was canceled, due to war conditions which havetaken hundreds of our members into the Government service. Although theconvention was canceled, it does not mean that the League will go backward,but rather that it will hold its present position and use its powers during the1919 session of the state legislature to bring about such changes as are thoughtnecessary to better conserve and increase the wild life in the state.
