rsoll told us that the most beautiful bird he had ever seen was aRedstart, which was pure white except the wings, which were yellow, a veryrare case.—Caroline C. Walbridge, Secretary. Seattle (Washington) Audubon Society.—^The second year of ourSociety has been one of success, both in the increase in membership and ininterest shown. There are now 132 active members. Regular monthly meetings are held inthe rooms of the Chamber of Commerce and Commercial Club, where lectureshave been given by Samuel F. Rathbun, Prof. Trevor Kincaid, Miss Mc-Carney, and others. We have had a number of bird-walks which have beenwell attended and much pleasure and knowledge derived therefrom. The publicschool teachers have entered into the work whole-heartedly, and too muchpraise cannot be given them for the work that they are doing with the school-children. Our chief activity during the year was a bird-exhibit which was given inconjunction with the manual training department of the city schools. Bird-
