When I turn the water onthe Crane, hedances. The FloridaJays are most in-telligent. If I givethem a whole pea-nut and then handthem a kernel ortwo, they will lookat the kernels, laythe whole peanutin my hand, takethe kernels backin their throat,and then take thewhole peanut.The Jays are notafraid of snakes;I have seen themalight on a snakeand pick it andscream. .360 Bird-Lore another on my shoulder, both screaming with excitement. I have found theFlorida Blue Jay the hardest to tame, hut I succeeded after a great amountof patience in coaxing them to perch on my hand for peanuts; when theybrought their young, it did not take two weeks to tame them.
