Having received suchlittle schooling as he could get from thissource, at the age of nineteen Mr. Woollenentered the Northwestern Christian Uni-versity, now Butler College. During theyears he spent here, he earned his way byteaching country school and doing occa-sional farming. He graduated from thelaw department a few years later andbegan the practice of law in Indianapolis.For nearly fifty years he has been con- Indianapolis itself. On Easter Sunday, in1897, as he wended his way down FallCreek, he came upon a singularly wildand beautiful spot. As he himself hasdescribed it; Before me was a veritable wild wood.It was primitive.
