l be issued by the Surveyduring the coming year. In the meantime Professor Cooke has kindlyprepared for Bird-Lore synopses of the migration dates of all the NorthAmerican species of this family; and, in view of what has just been said,it will be readily understood how much more detailed and valuable thismaterial will be than anything on the subject which has heretofore beenpublished. Of the Redstart, for example, Professor Cooke writes: I believe thatthe enclosed notes on the Redstart include the largest number of recordsever accumulated for one species on this continent. The figures givenrepresent 395 records selected from about as many more. With theserecords for comparison, it is needless to say that ones own observationswill become doubly interesting and significant. In concluding the publication of these papers, we shall print a full listof all the observers whose work is cited, with their stations, enabling onereadily to ascertain the authority for given dates.—-F. M. C. (188)
