In Wildlife Research Increasingly stringent legal restrictions on hunting seasons, game bags, and other improvised conservation measures have, in most instances, failed to halt the downward trend of upland game, waterfowl, furbearers, and other wildlife. This failure has brought a tardy recognition of the importance of preserving and restoring wildlife habitats. Unfortunately, wasteful land man- agement practices, including a general intensitication of farming and grazing, regardless of land types, and wholesale draining, have already caused tremendous losses of soil, water, forests, and wildlife.
