Description Bird houses are small shelters for birds on the facade of a number mosques in Turkey. The purpose was to provide refuge to birds and to protect them from storms, rain, mud and burning sun. They were built by Ottomans. During their reign, birds have beed creatures well-loved and believed to bring luck.
