During this time a catdisturbed the brood on a cold night, andonly three of the chicks were found alivenext morning. The brood was in a cage6x12 feet, inch-mesh wire, with a stripof cloth i8 inches wide around the bottom,and they were concealed under a densepile of green spruce boughs.
