Predicted Bipartite Nuclear Localization Signal Sites by iTasser & iCn3D
Summary
[edit]DescriptionBipartite NLS sites C22orf15.png |
English: The precise localization of proteins throughout a cell is crucial. Signaling proteins assist in the trafficking of transcription factors as well as import large proteins and molecules into the nucleus via recognition of a nuclear localization signal (NLS). Bipartite NLS tend to be 17 amino acids long and are basic on each end with a 7 amino acid linker. On C22orf15, the matched sequence motifs are “RRLSGLSSVGHNWRKRMG” and “RRGRHEQSPTSRPRK”. Both sequences are in exon 5. Of note, this exon is not present in isoform 3,4,or5 of C22orf15 |
