Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) The plant is also called "Devil's guts"; generations of farmers and gardeners have unsuccessfully tried to eradicate it, because the weed wraps itself around other plants and strangles them. Bindweed is a very fast growing plant, with the ends of its stems revolving anti-clockwise and trying to wind themselves around anything they touch - completing a full circle in under two hours' time. Bindweed is a common plant that can be found growing on wasteland, on roadside verges and in corn fields. Its blossoms have a scent reminiscent of almonds and attract many insects.
