| Description |
English: Bilston Road near The Royal, Midland Metro stop The tram tracks of the Midland Metro, in Bilston Road, turn to the right on a tram only reservation to serve the stop known as The Royal. They then continue over the ring road to terminate at St. George's. It now seems the line will, at last, be extended around the city centre on a loop, with a spur to the railway station.
The tram in this picture is number 12, in the original livery, and is on its way to Birmingham Snow Hill Railway Station. Trams are now being repainted into a silver and pink colour scheme. These vehicles will be replaced by a new fleet in the next few years, to increase capacity and overcome technical problems, which they seem prone to. |
