36—Addition to Shed. The existing shed on Pier 36 wasextended inshore to the water front line, the addition being 98 feet inwidth and 140 feet in length. The building is a timber frame struc-ture with a four-inch redwood roof. The walls are of reinforced con-crete for a height of about four feet, and for the remainder of theheight they are two-inch solid plastered walls on ribbed metal lath.The addition to the shed on Pier 36 was completed in October, 1917. Wells Fargo Building Addition. To care for the growing expressbusiness of Wells Fargo and Company, an addition was constructed atthe east end of the building on Pier 14.- The addition is irregular inshape, but is approximately 100 feet in width by 270 feet in length.A portion covering an area 61 feet by 82 feet is two stories in height,and the rest of the building is one-story. REPORT OF BO.VRD OF STATE H.VRBOR COMMISSIONERS. 43 Naval Training Station Building. A building for the use of theU. S. Xaval Training Station at Goat Island was constructed near theouter end of Pier 14. It is a one-story building, 21 feet by 60 feet, andcontains a waiting room, offices, freight room, etc. The building is atimber frame structure covered with metal lath and plaster. It wascompleted in March, 1917. Viaduct. Contracts have been let for the construction of a viaductextending from the second floor of the Ferry Building, across TheEmbarcadero to the west side of the street. It will leave the buildingabout 50 feet north of the center and will land on the sidewalk on thewest side of The Embarcadero near the north side of Market street.The viaduct will have a total length of 293 feet, with four spans and asidewalk width of 13 feet. It is expected that it will be completed aboutthe first of December, 1918. 5. Paving. The regular maintenance work on the pavement on The Embarcade
