Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The bicuspid aortic valve shows a "doming" configuration in the long axis view when it opens during systole. In the short axis view, the openning of the two leaflets creates a "fish-mouth" (oval) appearance. The short axis view in some cases may appear almost normal because of a fused raphe in the middle of one of the two leaflets.
