Summary
[edit]DescriptionBiałystok general city plan 1974 01.jpg |
English: The draft plan was developed in the Municipal Urban Planning Studio in Bialystok by a team of designers: general designer: architect Helena Nowara, Tadeusz Januszewski, MA, Czesław Podkowicz, Leopold Bielas, Andrzej Chwalibóg, Stanislaw Ciupa, Helena Gawryluk, Mirosław Jasiewicz, Henryk Majcher, Wanda Pietrasz, Helena Przetak, Roman Sikorski, Ryszard Wysocki, Henryk Zalewski. The construction of the plan was adapted to the general population in the perspective of 1990, estimated at approx. 290,000 inhabitants. Four urban complexes were distinguished in the spatial structure: South-Eastern with the city center and a separate centre, Northern, Western and Southern industrial complexes (outside the administrative borders of the city). Therefore, the principle of a four-stage service structure (a housing estate (osiedle), a district (dzielnica), a group of districts, a city) and the concentration of center-creating services on the areas of service centers indicated in the plan. The plan determined the location of new industrial-storage areas in the suburban area, south of Bialystok, in the area of the villages of Ignatki, Koplany and Zalesiany, with an area of 300 ha, due to the lack of opportunities for further development of industry within the administrative borders of Bialystok. An important element of the spatial structure is the system of green areas, especially the preservation of open systems along the valleys of the Supraśl and Biała rivers and the Dolistówka and Bazantarka watercourses. The ventilation wedges of the city in the north-south direction run from the Supraśl River, the high greenery Antoniuk - Pietrasze, the Zwierzynieci Park and the Solnicki Forest, from the east-west direction from the area of the Knyszynsko-Augustowska Forest through the city towards the Narew River. Approved by Ordinance No. 74 of the Voivode of Białystok Voivodeship issued on February 5, 1974.
