Historical building in Bremerhaven, northern Germany

  • Wohn- und Geschäftshaus, Hafenstraße 117
    • gebaut 1877 von Architiekt Carl Pogge aus Lehe für Mühlenbesitzer Henrich Mügge. Klassizistischer Eingang mit Gründerzeit-Entree, Paterre mit waagerechter Rustika, Balustradenbalkon im 1. Stock. Vorflur mit Mettlacher Platten, geätzter Windfangtür und 4 Nischen, 2 davon mit Figuren - weibliche Personifizierungen von Handel (links) und Industrie (rechts). Die Figuren sind Serienprodukte von Villeroy & Boch.
    • um 1900 Wechsel des Eigentümers, Nutzung als Bankhaus
    • 1928 Kauf durch die AOK, Aufstockung um 2 Geschosse zur Einrichtung einer Klinik. Auflage der Baubehörde: Erhaltung von Form und Baustil, "...wobei die alte Form nach oben hin sich allmählich an die zeitgenössische Form anpassen soll."
    • seit 19xx? ist im Gebäude die Verbraucherzentrale untergebracht.
