According to the Himavatkhand Purana, Shiva first established this linga by bathing in the waters of Bhashmaganga as a witness. Just touching makes all beings holy. It has been mentioned that the gods also worship this linga with ashes. There are many idols of Lord Shiva in the premises of this Shivalinga and there are many small Shivalingas. |
