Description
Français : Entamé en 1937 le chantier du barrage de Pannecière-Chaumard, 12 km au nord de Château-Chinon, Nièvre, non loin de la route d'Avallon, est rapidement interrompu par le 2nd conflit mondial. Il faudra 12 ans pour l'achever.

L'ouvrage, haut de 49 m pour une longueur de 345 m, retient un lac de 520 ha, le plus grand du Morvan.

Voulu pour réguler les eaux du bassin de la Seine (Yonne), et ainsi protéger la capitale de crues potentiellement dévastatrices, son volume maximal est de 82,5 Mm3.
