| Description |
English: The Stone Bridge was built between 1908 and 1914 as a regulator dam. It is 40.70 m in length and 6.35 m in breadth. There are 14 piers bearing 15 barrel vaults, each containing an independent sluice gate mechanism. Above the piers, at the road deck level, there is a similar looking colonnade housing the sluice gate controls and providing additional weight for stability. The bridge, which formed the first irrigation project built by the Ottoman State, is one of the symbols of the district.
Türkçe: 1908 -1914 yılları arasında yapımı tamamlanan Taş Köprü; regülatör baraj sistemi olarak yapılmıştır. Taş Köprü’nün uzunluğu 40.70 metre, eni ise 6.35 metredir. 14 sütun üzerine oturtulmuş 15 gözlü köprü üstü kemeri vardır. Köprü, OsmanlI Devleti’nin ilk kurduğu sulama projesi olarak bilinmektedir. Şehrin önemli simgelerindendir. |
