English: U.S. Army and Navy engineers dance along with Guatemalan army engineers and local children during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the El Rancho medical clinic near Coban, Guatemala. Construction of the clinic was part of Beyond the Horizon 2012 Guatemala, a U.S. Army South exercise deploying military engineers and medical professionals to Guatemala for training, while providing services to rural communities. U.S. service members from the Army and Navy worked alongside Guatemalan army engineers to complete the clinic which will provide residents in remote areas healthcare access. BTH is part of U.S. Southern Command's annual humanitarian and civic assistance program. Army South, working with SOUTHCOM, other military services and partner nations, will continue to build strong partnerships in the region by engaging with allies, building partner nation capacity and providing humanitarian assistance.
