| Description |
English: Ex-LNW 0-8-0 at Bescot. One of Bescot Depot's numerous ex-LNW 0-8-0s, No. 49045 was built 11/1897 by Webb as a 3-cylinder compound, rebuilt by Whale as a 2-cylinder simple to become LMS Class G1, rebuilt to G2a in 5/39, withdrawn 12/62. It is probably coming off the Depot (to the right) on the line to Wolverhampton, as there appears to be a railway in the distance which is probably the loop between the lines to Walsall from Birmingham (right) and Dudley (left). This is over 60 years ago - and the M6 dominates the scene now. [Can anyone clarify?] |
