Description
English: Berzeliite
Locality: Långban, Filipstad, Värmland, Sweden
Size: 9.2 cm x 6.6 cm x 5.9 cm
Berzeliite is an extremely rare sodium, calcium, magnesium arsenate and the famous Langban deposit is the Type Locality. Lustrous, rich-yellow berzeliite crystals richly cover the matrix of contrasting calcite on this showy and excellent specimen. Superb red fluorescence on both the berzeliite and calcite. Ex. Howard Belsky Collection and obtained at the 1981 Rochester Symposium. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987.
