L'asilo di Bertola fu fondato dal sottoscritto nel 1916 per raccogliere e custodirvi i tanti bambini della borgata durante la guerra e prosefue tuttora con soddisfazione ed utile per tutti. Vive di carità, non avendo né azionisti né altri cespiti di entrata. Ai bimbi, oltra la custodia, la refezione, il riscaldamento e l'istruzione religiosa, il giorno di S. Gemignano viene distribuito un paio di stivalini, ed intanto i loro genitori possono lavorare lontani da casa con tranquillità. Nel 1921 fece costruire un Oratorio, nel 1922 la sagristia e nel 1932 il campanile e le tre campane, e questo in suffragio dei suoi morti e per il bene morale della borgata. L'Oratorio fu benedetto e aperto il 25 giugno 1921 dal sempre amato e compianto Arciv. Buni, col battesimo delle quattro figlie dell'Adani. Il 28 aprile 1921 fu aperto il nuovo ponte per grande comodo degli abitanti. La borgata conta 45 famiglie con 220 individui, tutti lavoratori. Geminiano Varini |

The country of origin of this photograph is Italy. It is in the public domain there because its copyright term has expired. According to Law for the Protection of Copyright and Neighbouring Rights n.633, 22 April 1941 and later revisions, images of people or of aspects, elements and facts of natural or social life, obtained with photographic process or with an analogue one, including reproductions of figurative art and film frames of film stocks (Art. 87) are protected for a period of 20 years from creation (Art. 92). Photographs that are "intellectual work with creative characteristics" are protected for 70 years after the author's death (Art. 32 bis), whereas simple photographs are protected for a period of 20 years from creation.
