Description
English: Bernice Ackerman, ca. 1925. Born Bernice De Neveu Ackerman (1898-1995) in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, USA. Bernice 'Bea' Ackerman attended the University of Kansas and studied art and taught dancing throughout her schooling there. She then won a scholarship in painting and went east to study at Provincetown, Mass. and while there took part in the Ziegfeld Follies from 1923-1926. Bernice sang and danced in the Ziegfeld Follies to good acclaim. Did some modeling for A.C. Johnson as well. Later at one of her art exhibits, she was to meet her husband Lester Martin
