Deutsch: Die törichten Jungfrauen, Sandsteinskulpturen, Hauptportal, Berner Münster, Bern, Schweiz.
Die lebensgrossen Sandsteinfiguren der klugen und törichten Jungfrauen am Hauptportal wurden ca. 1460-1481 durch den Steinmetz Erhart Küng (1420-1507) geschaffen und bei der Restauration 1964-1991 durch originalgetreue, bemalte Kopien ersetzt. Die Jungfrau ganz rechts trägt eine Rolle mit der Inschrift: "Ach und we das / wir ouch nut ole hand / gend uns zo kouffen / dz wir mit uch ihen gand" (etwa: Ach und weh, dass wir auch kein Oel haben; gebt uns zu kaufen, damit wir mit euch hinein gehen können) (Gleichnis von den klugen und törichten Jungfrauen, Matthäus 25, 1-13) |
