Description

Die lebensgrossen Sandsteinfiguren der klugen und törichten Jungfrauen am Hauptportal wurden ca. 1460-1481 durch den Steinmetz Erhart Küng (1420-1507) geschaffen und bei der Restauration 1964-1991 durch originalgetreue, bemalte Kopien ersetzt.

Die erste Jungfrau von links trägt eine Rolle mit der Inschrift: "Unser Oel jst nit feil / das jrs wol verstant / gond reichendtz bj / de koffern dies feil hant" (etwa: Unser Oel ist nicht verkäuflich, nur damit ihr es richtig versteht; geht und holt es bei den Händlern, die es anbieten).
