- From Gussow’s obituary in The New York Times:
The United States Government acquired water-colors from him in 1941 for decorating the Marine Hospital in Louisiana, after a national competition. These works were also shown at the National Gallery.
(Children's Hospital New Orleans now owns this property at 200 Henry Clay Avenue, New Orleans.)
