Description

Berms in Toronto's Portlands.

A shipping channel runs through the middle of Toronto's Portlands. Big Lake freighters regularly unload cargos of gravel or sand, for construction. Usually these are covered by tarpaulins, to prevent erosion.
I don't know why this berm has been left uncovered.
I don't know why this berm is so white.
Winter salt is also piled in berms there -- a potential pollution problem.
