Description
English: This buildng was built in 1935-1936 as the headquarters of Goering's Air Ministry. It occupies frontage of over 250 m (800 ft) on Wilhelmstrasse, the center of government buildings at the time. It was one of the few major buildings in the center of Berlin that was substantially intact at the end of World War II. It was the "House of Ministries" (Haus der Ministerien) during the East German period. It now houses the German Finance Ministry. The Berlin Wall crosses this photo.
